Credit Analyst


Rubis Guyana Inc., a company specializing in the marketing of petroleum products, is seeking to fill the vacant position of Credit Analyst.

This role is to support the management of accounts receivable and customer credit facility for Guyana.

The Portfolio 

The responsibilities include:

  • Gathering, analyzing and evaluating the necessary information (financials, bank statements, credit score etc.) to establish the customer’s present and continuing ability to pay their obligations. Recommends approval or denial of requested credit line.
  • Assisting the Credit Manager in administering and providing guidance on credit policies for maintaining soundness and liquidity of the company’s accounts receivable.
  • Co-ordinating with the Sales department and other functions on various methods and collection actions for resolving disputed, past due and problem accounts.  
  • Preparing aging and past due reports to readily detect any adverse trends and determine if any corrective actions are to be taken.
  • Facilitating the Sales and Logistics functions to achieve maximum turnaround time for the order to sales process.
  • Maintaining accounts receivable customer accounts by amending customer master. 
  • Maintaining awareness of local economic conditions, internal controls, accounting regulations and compliance policy to ensure that all activities meet all audit requirements.
  • Participating in any cross functional meetings aimed at deciding on strategies that would develop and improve credit processes and relationships with external organizations.
  • Providing technical assistance and training in credit to other departments.
  • Completing annual credit reviews on customer accounts to ensure alignment with Internal Controls.
  • Conducting customer visits to perform an overall review of credit administration and to ensure compliance with policies and procedures.  


  • Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business related subject.
  • Minimum of five years’ experience in a credit and collections field.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite. 
  • Results oriented, self-motivated and business focused.
  • Ability and willingness to travel overseas.
