Ezra Long Laboratory staff fill up with RUBIS to celebrate Professionals Week

Medical Laboratory Professionals Week was recently celebrated in April, with some healthcare workers running on full tanks of fuel from TeamRUBIS. This is thanks to a contribution of $1000 in Ultra Tec fuel vouchers donated to the Ezra Long Laboratory of the Owen King EU (OKEU) Hospital, located at Millennium Heights Medical Complex (MHMC).   The fuel vouchers were presented earlier this month to elated hospital laboratory staff.  Laboratory Director, Dr. Wayne Felicien said, “Millennium Heights Medical Complex is always grateful to RUBIS for their intentional support to our organisation, our staff and our goal of providing people-centred care to the citizens of St Lucia. This time around, RUBIS contributed to the celebrations for a dedicated and crucial team at MHMC, the Ezra Long Laboratory. The laboratory staff are known for being fun and engaging despite the constraints and gravity of the role they play in healthcare. During Laboratory Professionals Week this year, we were able to recognise their hard work, commitment, and innovation, and that was in part thanks to the generous donation from RUBIS. We are thankful and look forward to growing our relationship with RUBIS as a socially conscious corporate citizen.”

Tamika Celestin, RUBIS Assistant Account Executive, said: “We are happy to team up with the Millennium Heights Medical Complex again, as we understand the staple they are in our community. They provide healthcare to the whole island and, as such, deserve all the celebrations that they are receiving. We understand the vital role of laboratory technicians in the medical field and their importance. We hope that this gesture reminds them that everything they do is appreciated and certainly fuels the life of all their patients.”
