St. Vincent, Fuelled By RUBIS.

RUBIS has revolutionized the energy industry since commencing operations in St Vincent and the Grenadines five years ago.

These were the sentiments expressed by featured speaker Prime Minister, The Honourable Dr. Ralph Gonsalves, Prime Minister as he addressed the guests at the lavish RUBIS 5th anniversary cocktail party, hosted at Bungalow, Villa last month.  Prime Minister Gonsalves said, “I would like to congratulate RUBIS on its 5th Anniversary in St. Vincent. I want to thank you very much for coming and for the work that you have been doing”. He also commended RUBIS for their contribution to the community sector and for reaching out to people during times of need.

In his remarks, Mauricio Nicholls, CEO, RUBIS Caribbean, confirmed that over the past five years, the company made a cumulative investment in excess of US$6m in St. Vincent and the Grenadines and this was a very clear indication of RUBIS’ strong commitment to this country. He added, “This level of investment we believe no other industry player has achieved in the same period.” RUBIS’ growth and investments in St Vincent and the Grenadines has resulted in more than doubling of the full time employees since April 2011.

Mr. Nicholls also spoke to the myriad projects and activities RUBIS has undertaken during the last five years. These included the acquisition and rebrand of the Peruvian Vale Service Station in 2013 and the building of a brand new fuel storage and airport fuelling facility at the new Argyle International Airport. The CEO congratulated the local team for their hard work and sterling efforts as they activated their corporate social responsibility programme, which focused on the areas of education, culture and community.

As part of the celebrations Customer appreciation events were held at various RUBIS Service Stations across the island.  Customers had the chance to play the Spin It To Win It game to receive instant prizes. A great time was had by all!
