RUBIS customers welcome spanking new and upgraded Victoria RUBIS Service Station

Grenadians welcomed the opening of the rebuilt and expanded Victoria RUBIS Service Station when it was officially launched to the public with a celebratory Grand Opening on Wednesday 27th March, 2024.

Brightly coloured decorations complimented the bold RUBIS branding adorning the station, which has been modernised and enhanced by Rubis West Indies Limited at an investment cost of USD$500,000. It is operated by SA Belfon Inc., represented at the event by Director Frederick Belfon.

During his remarks at the opening ceremony Senator The Honourable Quinc Britton, Parliamentary Secretary within the Ministry of Tourism, the Creative Economy, and Culture to assist the Minister for Culture commended RUBIS on the investment in the community, stating, “We welcome this initiative with RUBIS and thank RUBIS, as well as encouraging other businesses to partner or to piggyback on the success of this investment.”

Country Representative Mr. Charles Archer recalled that the late Swinton Fletcher founded the original gas station at Queen’s Street, Victoria, in 1987. He welcomed Mrs. Dorette Fletcher to the ceremony and said that RUBIS was delighted to fulfill the dream and legacy of Mr. Fletcher, through the revitalisation of the Victoria Service Station.  He said the new station demonstrated RUBIS’ commitment to providing modern and efficient fueling facilities across Grenada.

“This service station demonstrates the firm commitment of RUBIS to offer to the Grenadian public, modern, pleasant, safe and efficient fueling facilities not only along high traffic or urban locations but also in rural locations such as Victoria, where they can purchase our high-quality Ultra Tec fuel and the goods they need at our well-stocked convenience store,” Mr. Archer said.

The Country Representive revealed that the trend of Grenadian customers tangibly demonstrating their appreciation for new investment in upgraded facilities through increased patronage was already evident at Victoria RUBIS.  “What we have seen time and time again is that the Grenadian consumer appreciates the investments that are made to modernise and upgrade service stations, and in return, they reward us with their loyalty and support. As a result, we have seen substantial increases in sales every time we have built a more modern and appealing fueling facility. This is already the case with Victoria station. We hope this will help transform the neighbourhood and attract other investments into the area for the benefit of the community of St Mark.”

Following the opening ceremony, customers enjoyed an afternoon of fun and prizes as they participated in spinning the RUBIS wheel to win prizes with each purchase of $50 or more in Ultra Tec fuel. The exciting prizes included a 55” TV, $500 Foodland grocery vouchers, RUBIS Gift Cards, and Rubigas vouchers.
