RUBIS continues to play its part in the development of Goodwill Primary School. This was confirmed as the energy company recently made a donation of 40 tablets to the students as they began their new school year. Nicholson Dodds, Country Representative for RUBIS Dominica, explained that this most recent investment of the Alcatel 1T 7 inch tablets was arranged to equip the student body should they need to work from home. He said, “When Rubis assisted with the rebuilding of the auditorium after the passage of Hurricane Maria, we committed to working with the Ministry of Education, the teachers and students of Goodwill Primary School should the need arise and this presentation confirms this.” Mr. Dodds took the opportunity to also encourage the Dominican business community to play their part. He said, “We know that these are very difficult times as a result of COVID-19. However, we need to invest in students as these children are our future.
Since the onset of the pandemic, Rubis Caribbean has invested over EC$34,000 locally as part of its regional COVID-19 relief efforts. Other donations have included the provision of personal protective gear to the Ministry of Health, Wellness and New Health Investment.
