Using technology to enhance educational delivery has continued to be the focus of RUBIS’ charitable outreach to schools in Guyana, with recent contributions to Mahaica Children’s Home and Providence Primary School.
Mahaica Children’s Home received seven tablets, which will be used to stream educational content, while Providence Primary was presented with a large-screen smart TV that will benefit students preparing for their National Grade Six Assessment (NGSA) 2024. The school also received a water dispenser.
Joy Paton of Mahaica Children’s Home thanked RUBIS and noted the immediate positive impact of the new equipment. “Your donation has already made a huge impact; with the help of tablets and under the supervision of staff, the children will be able to follow educational content appropriate for their age and needs, leading to them being better informed.”
Nelissa Thomas of Providence Primary School emphasized the value of the new smart TV in enhancing the teaching and learning experience for grade six pupils preparing for the NGSA 2024. She also thanked RUBIS for the thoughtful gift of a water dispenser, which addresses the essential need for hydration during the ongoing wave of hot weather. “Our grade six pupils are in the final preparation stage for NGSA 2024, and this TV will show videos on different topics in the four core subjects. This will give children a better understanding of concepts since they can view them visually.”
Joylyn Johnson, Senior Account Executive, RUBIS said these donations to the Mahaica Children’s Home and Providence Primary School underscore the company’s commitment to enhancing education in communities. “We understand the positive impact technology has on learning, especially at home. RUBIS is proud to have contributed to Providence Primary School’s effort in converting all level 6 classrooms to smart environments. We continue as a company to meet the needs, whether large or small, in the communities in which we operate.”
