RUBIS fuels AOPT members

RUBIS Barbados continued its support of the Alliance Owners of Public Transport (AOPT) for a second year with a recent donation of Ultra Tec fuel vouchers.

At the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, RUBIS supported the Alliance with a similar donation to mitigate the loss of income that members were experiencing from reduced capacity loads and COVID-19 shutdowns. This year, the energy company decided to donate 40 fuel vouchers valued at a total of $2,000. The presentation to members of the Alliance took place at Fontabelle RUBIS and Communications and Marketing Officer of the AOPT Mark Haynes lauded RUBIS for their continuous support during what he described as difficult times for PSV operators who are among the most vulnerable in these times.

Alliance members, taxi driver Sinclair Bynoe and minibus driver Winston Lowe were on hand for the presentation and received their fuel vouchers from Shenika Clark, Supervisor, Fontabelle RUBIS. The remaining vouchers will be distributed to other members of the AOPT.
