RUBIS Grenada recently donated 20 school bags to the students of the Mt. Moritz Anglican School, St. George’s as they prepared to re-enter the physical classroom.
The donation, which also included lunch kits and stationery, was a collaborative effort with the Rotoract Club of Grenada who also donated notebooks and other stationery items to the children ages 2 to 10 years old.
Areen Lewis, Assistant Accounts Executive, RUBIS indicated her delight to be a part of this initiative stating, “With education being one of our focus areas, we are grateful for every opportunity to make an impact in our communities throughout Grenada, Carriacou and Petite Martinique.” Ms. Lewis urged the children to make the best use of the opportunity now that they are back in school and reminded them of the importance of being respectful and kind to their classmates and teachers.
Rachael Forte, Principal of Mt. Moritz Anglican School noted that the donation to her students is timely and much needed. She explained, “We pledge to ensure that the items are put to good use and that our staff will continue to provide the students with the support they need to excel. We thank RUBIS and are grateful to be chosen for this donation.”
TeamRUBIS has made several presentations to support online education in Grenada throughout the Covid-19 pandemic, including a donation of tablets to the Grenada Community Development Agency (GRENCODA) and assistance for GRENCODA’s Student Assistance Program as well as gifting Lembook Digital Textbooks to the Ministry of Education. The energy company looks forward to continuing to provide support as in person classes resume.
