RUBIS Grenada lends a hand with PPE for nurses

RUBIS Grenada supported the Nurses Association of Grenada with a recent donation of masks, gloves and sanitisers.

President of the Nurses Association, Nekisha St. Bernard, in accepting the donation noted, “This contribution from RUBIS was very timely as the country is now experiencing a second wave of the Covid-19 virus and receiving these items will provide much needed protection to our members. As frontline workers we are challenged to ensure that whenever called upon every member is provided with the resources to ensure they can always perform their tasks safely.” Nurse St. Bernard thanked RUBIS for remembering them at a time when there are many persons throughout the country who are in need.

During the handover of the PPE items, valued at EC$4500, Country Representative for RUBIS, Charles Archer told members, “The entire nursing fraternity provides a key service that is important for everyone’s safety. As frontline workers you are expected to be available to answer every call for service and your own health is vitally important to us all.  We at RUBIS do not take your role for granted and even though it is not said enough, you are very much appreciated.” He continued, “The fight against this pandemic belongs to everyone, and we must all must be consistent in wearing masks, keeping safe distance, sanitizing and being vaccinated against the virus.”

RUBIS remains invested in protecting the health of medical personnel in Grenada. In 2020, the energy company donated PPE to the Ministry of Health to ensure first responders remain safe during the Covid-19 pandemic.
