The Official ribbon cutting ceremony (L-R) Dr. Mahendra Sharma, Mr. Colgan Ross, Mrs. Coretta Ross-Hopkinson and Mr. Mauricio Nicholls
The recent festive re-opening of Ross Service Station also heralded the launch of Rubis Guyana’s ninth branded operation.
The refurbished station, which is located at Lot 11 Ruimveldt, Greater Georgetown has a long history in the industry. It was updated to a state of the art facility and opened at the end of 2017. A solid commitment to excellent customer service and increased employment opportunities were promises made by retailer, Mrs Coretta Ross-Hopkinson.
Mr. Mauricio Nicholls, CEO Rubis Caribbean, addressing guests during the opening, confirmed the company was very optimistic about Guyana’s growth in the petroleum industry over the next few years. He said, “Rubis is ready to do its part to develop its business and grow in this beautiful country.”
Business pioneer Mr Coglan Ross, who began the business 56 years ago, joined his daughter, Mrs Coretta Ross-Hopkinson, Dr Mahendra Sharma, Chief Executive Officer, Guyana Energy Agency and Mr. Mauricio Nicholls for the official ribbon cutting ceremony.
The branding and modernization of Rubis Ross Service Station were seen as useful tools in the promotion of the business, Dr Sharma said. “Corporate image will have an impact on the attitude of both customers who visit the station and its employees.”
Lucky customer Nigel Harry was given the honour of a free fill-up, courtesy Rubis, as part of the celebration.
Ross Service Station’s hours of operation are 6:00am to 10:00pm daily and they offer Rubis’ full range of products such as Ultra Tec fuel, Rubigas and Total Lubricants. There is also an onsite convenience store.
