The Barbados Defence Force (BDF) recently celebrated their 43rd anniversary and RUBIS was pleased to contribute to the sponsorship of one of the activities to celebrate this milestone, an inter-service T10 Cricket Tournament. The tournament included participation by teams from the BDF, Barbados Prison Service and the Barbados Police Force.
Held at the Police Sports Club, Weymouth, under rainy conditions, the keenly contested matches saw the BDF team emerge victorious against the Barbados Police Force. Man of the Match was awarded to Dario Burnham from the BDF. The spectators were also well entertained with trivia questions and there were $50 Ultra Tec fuel vouchers to be won throughout the event.
Several members of TeamRUBIS were on hand to present medals to the teams. In presenting the Challenge Cup to the winning team. Raydeen Hunte, Network Brand Coordinator, RUBIS, congratulated the BDF, commenting, “The BDF plays a vital role in our society and we commend them on 43 years of sterling service. RUBIS is happy to be a part of this cricket match which encourages friendly camaraderie amongst these teams while providing an evening of cricket action for everyone who came out to support.”
Captain Michael Jules, Sports Coordinator of the BDF, expressed appreciation to RUBIS for their support of the event, saying “We value your corporate partnership and look forward to continued association and collaboration in future events.”
