RUBIS St. Vincent Fuels 150 Homes with Cooking Gas

TeamRUBIS continues to support those Vincentians impacted by the La Soufriere volcanic eruption with a recent presentation of 150 Rubigas LPG vouchers to residents in the North Leeward district. Receiving the vouchers on behalf of the residents was the Hon. Carlos James, Constituency Representative for North Leeward and Minister of Tourism, Civil Aviation, Sustainable Development and Culture.

During the presentation, Minister James lauded the energy company for their continued contribution to areas that were affected by the disaster. He said, “RUBIS has supported the relief efforts with contributions of food packages to vulnerable persons in several areas and now they are back here in North Leeward supplying residents with vouchers for cooking gas.” He added, “We are quite happy that they are able to make this contribution as residents are in the process of resettling into their homes and communities where they will need to cook, which is being made possible with this very worthwhile gesture from RUBIS, who is living up to their social corporate responsibility as they continue to offer support to the people of North Leeward.”

Elroy Edwards, Accounts Executive, RUBIS St Vincent explained, “RUBIS, and by extension Rubigas, will continue to be committed to the people of St. Vincent & the Grenadines especially in times like these. This further support, to the amount of EC$5,880, will provide much needed assistance to those who have been affected by the impact of the volcanic explosion, more so the elderly and vulnerable. We will continue to assess the situation on the ground and respond accordingly. I would like to thank the Minister and his team for his support in this initiative as well as the volunteers who ensure that the lives of those persons adversely affected by the volcanic eruption are touched in a positive and tangible way”.
