RUBIS Supporting Youth Athletics

A strong community spirit and commitment to the development of sports. These were some of the reasons behind the RUBIS through their Sports Club becoming involved in the 2017 National Association of Primary Schools Athletics Championships (NAPSAC) meet.

Rudy Smith, Finance Manager, Rubis Eastern Caribbean and President of the Rubis Sports Club explained, “Rubis supports several sporting interests locally and regionally, as part of our social responsibility programme, swimming and rallying to name a few.” He added, “When we heard there was a possibility of reduced sponsorship for NAPSAC the members of the club decided to throw their support behind NAPSAC’s Andrea Blackett zone.” The Sports Club is also involved in several community events.

Mr. Smith was on hand to present trophies to the beaming boys’ and girls’ winners, St Cyprian’s Boys School and Selah Primary.

Over 1000 primary school children are participating in this year’s championship. The NAPSAC finals are scheduled for March 22, 2017 at the Usain Bolt Sports Complex.
