Team Rubis celebrated International Women’s Day (IWD) 2020 by a hosting their employees to a ‘break time chat’ focusing on women’s health and wellness.
Shanice Murray, a registered nutritionist, spoke on the topic of “Body Image and Nutrition.” During her one-hour presentation, Ms. Murray shared tips for living a healthy lifestyle through embracing sustainable eating habits and exercise. The highly interactive session included a very open and frank question -and -answer session, which was enhanced by the sharing of real-life experiences.
Gabrielle Barrow, Marketing Coordinator, Rubis Eastern Caribbean SRL, who coordinated the event explained, “There are so many issues that affect women and this year for IWD we wanted to start a conversation through a series of talks geared towards women and there is no better place to start – than with health and wellness.” She added, “Shanice’s chat with the ladies (and a few gentlemen) of Rubis included her reminding Team Rubis to be more mindful of our diet choices and to pay more attention to our wellness.”
Ms. Barrow confirmed the session evoked many questions from the Rubis employees who thoroughly enjoyed the session which also encouraged the utilization of local food options in their diets.
