RUBIS Champions Youth Excellence Through Sport and Education

RUBIS St. Vincent has once again demonstrated its commitment to youth development and education through a donation of XCD $2,000 to the MAVRIX Sports and Culture Organisation in support of the 2025 International Basketball Summer Camp.

The camp, hosted in collaboration with Anthony Roy Collegiate Placement Services (USA), tipped off with an opening ceremony on July 15 at Beachcombers Hotel, followed by six days of intensive training at the Calliaqua Playing Field from July 16–21. A total of 32 young athletes participated in the programme, receiving high-level coaching and exposure to international scouting.

A standout moment of the camp was the selection of eight athletes for basketball scholarships in the United States by Coach Cameron Turner of the Eastern Arizona Men’s Basketball Team. This milestone marks a significant step forward for these young Vincentians in both their athletic and academic journeys.

Richard Cato, Head Coach of MAVRIX, expressed his pride in the outcome, “As a result of this programme, eight players have been selected for U.S. scholarships. The necessary logistics are already being put in place for their placement. We had 32 participants at the camp, and it’s incredible to see this kind of impact.”
