EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Rubis Guyana Inc., a company specialising in the marketing of petroleum products, is seeking a Project Engineer to join our Guyana engineering team in providing engineering support to our regional Terminal, Retail, C&I, LPG and Aviation facilities.
The Portfolio
The responsibilities for the position include:
- Identifying, planning and executing projects with the emphasis on sound engineering principles, safety, cost and time
- Assisting key stakeholders in identifying, planning and executing projects with the emphasis on safety, cost and time
- Applying sound engineering principles to troubleshoot issues, design and implement solutions
- Performing front-end concepts through to detailed designs for all capital expenditure projects, ensuring that the resources, organisation, cost, project schedule and contract strategies are appropriate
- Preparing relevant project documentation and controlling scope from initiation to conclusion of project. Ensuring assets are recorded by the finance department
- Supervising, overseeing, commissioning and handing over the construction phase of projects and reporting on project performance
- Validating completed work and conducting post expenditure project reviews
- Working with contracts and procurement teams to develop and implement a procurement strategy for each project. Reviewing tenders and contract documentation for project contracts
- Preparing cost estimates for projects
- Liaising with external stakeholders including clients, consultants and regulatory agencies to ensure all requirements and constraints are considered
Qualifications
- BEng/BSc. degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Civil, Chemical, or Industrial Engineering
- In possession of or working towards professional or registered engineer status
- 5 years’ relevant engineering experience
- Ability to manage deadlines and work well with others in a fast-changing environment
- Proficient in MS Office Suite including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project and AutoCad
- Knowledge of project management principles

- Ability and willingness to travel within the Eastern Caribbean and internationally
