EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Rubis West Indies Limited, a company specialising in the marketing of petroleum products, is seeking to fill the vacant position of Mechanic/Crewman.
The Porfolio
To ensure proper maintenance and operation of equipment according to the required standards. To conduct repairs, keep in good working order all vehicles and machinery. Fuels aircraft in an effective way ensuring that product maintains quality standards. To comply with all local and aviation safety requirements.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspects equipment, replaces parts or corrects problems as required
- Maintains inventory of replacement parts in good condition and established quantities
- Performs daily checks on assigned mobile units and fixed facilities before initiating distribution
- Performs major repairs to breakdowns of engines, gearboxes and machinery
- Assists airfield staff in fueling aircraft in an efficient and safe manner
- Gauges tanks and ensures fuel meets specifications
- Monitors and ensures adequate product inventory exists and follows quality control procedures
- Completes weekly checks on all emergency plant equipment including fire systems and generators
Qualifications & Requirements
- Minimum of 5 CXC subjects including Mathematics and English
- Mechanical diploma or equivalent recognised certification in Mechanical Engineering
- Minimum of 5 years’ hands on and supervisory experience in the related diesel mechanic field
- Willingness to work within a flexible work arrangement including weekends as necessary
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in a similar environment
- Awareness of Occupational Safety.
- Possession of a valid heavy duty vehicle license
Skills
- Computer literate and a working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Proven, in-depth knowledge of diesel truck engines, electrical systems, and advanced diagnostic methodologies
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Competent in using specialised tools and reading service manuals and repair guides
- Deadline driven and experienced in managing multiple projects
