Mayers brothers ready for King Of The Hill, Sol Rally

The Mayers brothers, Roger and Barry, say they are ready to make their mark on the forthcoming King Of The Hill and Sol Rally Barbados.
The season has already kicked off with the Carters Warm Up Stages Rally, by which Barry was able to secure a win in his class SM2, but it was not easy going with mixed weather conditions all day. Roger unfortunately missed this rally as he was waiting on his new engine. Both cars are now fully prepared and ready for King Of The Hill and Rally Barbados.
Barry has to defend the two-wheel drive title which he won last year, but he is now up against some stiff competition, with Roger among his biggest rivals. Apart from Roger, there are also some very quick guys such as Rhett
Watson, Daryl Clarke and Dane Skeete – which will make the fight very interesting. “I am ready and I am quietly confident I will do well. Roger is also feeling very confident. “He got some gearbox problems sorted which plagued him in 2017, and is ready to give maximum attack,” Barry said. Both cars will be on display at Chefette Warrens next week (May 25) for the Chefette Lime.
“A lot of hard work has been put in and much thanks has to go to our sponsors for constantly sticking with us – Chefette, Rubis, Digicel, Hankook, DHL, Illusion Graphics,” Barry added. Ninety-three crews are expected for the 29th
running of the Sol Rally Barbados slated for June 1 to 3. Flow King Of The Hill which is set for May 27 returns to Hangman’s Hill, St Thomas, with four official timed runs. (MK)
