Old Fort Hockey Club Marks 50 Years with Youth Sports Day Supported by Team Rubis

The Old Fort Hockey Club proudly showcased some of Guyana’s youthful sporting talent as it celebrated its 50th anniversary recently with a successful Youth Sports Day sponsored by Team RUBIS.

Inclement weather failed to dampen the players’ enthusiasm at the AstroTurf in South Ruimveldt Gardens on August 14th, where three under-14 hockey teams showcased their talent alongside spirited football activities.

RUBIS contributed USD $900 to support the event’s success, and the young participants showed their appreciation by demonstrating the true spirit of a sports day with excellent sportsmanship and enthusiastic, good-natured competition.

Natasha Brown, Rubis Sales & Marketing Coordinator, said RUBIS Guyana is proud to support the development of youth sports and to be a part of this important milestone for the Old Fort Hockey Club. “Celebrating 50 years of commitment to hockey and community is truly inspiring, and we’re honoured to contribute to an event that brings young athletes together and fosters a spirit of teamwork, discipline and fun.”

Public Relations Officer of the Old Fort Hockey Club, Ivor Thompson, thanked RUBIS for its sponsorship and support. “Their partnership goes a long way in helping us achieve our goals and continue making a positive impact. The company’s presence, financial contribution and overall support were very much appreciated. We deeply value their commitment and look forward to building on this collaboration,” Mr. Thompson said.
