Team RUBIS Antigua “Walked for the Cure” on Saturday, October 12th, 2024, trading the white, red and green for symbolic pink to show their support in the fight against breast cancer with another gold sponsorship of the annual CIBC fundraiser.
The team was ably led by Raphaelene Jackson – RUBIS Country Representative, who, at the recent sponsorship presentation, noted that RUBIS was pleased to continue its golden contribution to Walk for the Cure.
“RUBIS is very happy to support CIBC at their annual “Walk for the Cure” event, which is put on in partnership with Breast Friends of Antigua and The Oncology Department of the Sir Lester Bird Mount St. John’s Medical Center to which all funds raised are donated. We are honoured to be a part of such a very laudable cause,” Ms. Jackson said.
This year’s event in Antigua was the thirteenth consecutive staging of Walk for the Cure, part of a regional push to raise money to fight cancer. Team RUBIS Antigua followed in the footsteps of their counterparts in Barbados, who walked for the cure one week earlier, on Sunday, October 6th, in support of the Barbados Cancer Society’s Breast Screening Programme.
Walk for the Cure is CIBC’s flagship activity, administered via the Bank’s ComTrust Foundation. It is one of the Caribbean’s largest cancer fundraising and educational initiatives, having raised more than USD$4 million across the Bank’s regional footprint.
