RUBIS credited for restoring symbol of love and identity at School for the Deaf

A symbol of love, identity, and support for the differently abled community that was lost when Hurricane Beryl destroyed the main signage at the School for the Deaf on July 1 last year, has been beautifully restored by Team RUBIS.

At a recent unveiling of the new signage, RUBIS Accounts Executive, Areen Lewis, expressed RUBIS’ continued commitment to supporting institutions that play a crucial role in shaping and uplifting Grenadian communities. She noted that the School for the Deaf provides an invaluable service through specialised education and developmental support for students with hearing impairments.

Proper signage is more than just a physical marker; it represents identity, accessibility, and safety. By replacing the sign damaged during Hurricane Beryl, RUBIS is proud to contribute to the school’s visibility and ensure that students, staff, parents, and visitors can confidently navigate,” Ms. Lewis said.

Ms. Lewis reaffirmed RUBIS’ dedication to investing in initiatives that empower vulnerable groups and strengthen community resilience across Grenada, Carriacou, and Petite Martinique.

Principal Michelle Brathwaite expressed her sincere gratitude for the timely donation, noting that the outdoor sign is an essential part of the school’s presence and identity. She explained that clear and proper signage helps visitors, parents, and partners easily locate the school and reinforces the institution’s role within the community.

Ms. Brathwaite added that following the challenges posed by Hurricane Beryl, the support from RUBIS has brought renewed encouragement to both staff and students. She thanked the company for recognising the importance of the school’s work and for contributing to an environment that remains welcoming, safe, and accessible for all.
