RUBIS Suriname hosts French Embassy for productive fuel sector meeting

Paramaribo, December 1, 2025 – Fuel market challenges and opportunities for growth in the sector featured prominently on the agenda as RUBIS Suriname welcomed representatives from the Embassy of France in Paramaribo for a constructive meeting, focused on current sector developments and opportunities for enhanced collaboration.

The Embassy was represented by Mr. Christian Brosseron, First Counsellor, and Mr. Thierry Lecomte, Sustainable Development Advisor for the Andean Zone and the Guiana Plateau.

Discussions covered several relevant topics, including developments and challenges in the fuel market. The delegation also explored opportunities for growth and ways to further strengthen commercial activities in Suriname.

The French Embassy restated its commitment to supporting French companies seeking to expand their presence and operations in Suriname. Both parties expressed a shared intention to continue exploring avenues for cooperation, with particular focus on sustainability, safety, and efficient energy supply.

RUBIS Suriname noted it values the open dialogue and looks forward to further strengthening its relationship with the French diplomatic mission.

RUBIS began operations in Suriname in 2019, where the Company has a storage capacity of 130,000 barrels, divided across four storage tanks. The terminal is equipped with five loading racks, along with additional features such as a high-tech office with conference room facilities and a concrete jetty designed to accommodate the fueling and discharging of ships on the Suriname River.

Roy Boedhoe Enterprises (RBE) distributes RUBIS fuel to both commercial customers and retail stations.  RUBIS Ultra Tec gasoline and Ultra Low Sulphur diesel are premium fuels sold at five RUBIS and all RBE service stations.
