RUBIS Partners with Wayne George Football Academy to Empower Young Athletes

The young athletes of the Wayne George Football Academy will be well attired when they take the field for upcoming matches, thanks to a Team RUBIS donation of XCD $5,000 to support the purchase of uniforms and equipment.

RUBIS Accounts Executive, Vanalda Henry-Vidal, said Team RUBIS was delighted to support the Wayne George Football Academy’s work and its efforts to nurture young talent in Dominica.

“We believe that sports play a vital role in shaping future leaders by promoting teamwork, discipline, and perseverance. We are honoured to contribute to an initiative that positively impacts the lives of young people and strengthens our community,” Henry-Vidal said.

Coach & Founder, Wayne George, was effusive in his appreciation for the partnership with Team RUBIS.

“Big thank you to RUBIS for partnering with us to help nurture young athletes’ talent in football and help us build leaders and citizens. We appreciate the support and wish to continue working with you all,” George said.

Founded in 2008, the Academy is a legally registered entity that has operated for over 15 years as a community-based football programme dedicated to the development of young athletes – both boys and girls – from age 5 and up. Based in Bath Estate, the Academy currently supports more than 100 young players and has played an important role in grassroots football development in Dominica.

The Academy conducts training sessions every Saturday and regularly participates in friendly matches against other local teams. Its senior players also compete in local leagues organised by the Dominica Football Association. Over the years, the Academy has helped nurture numerous young athletes, contributing meaningfully to the development of football and youth in Dominica.
