EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITY
Rubis Eastern Caribbean SRL, a company specialising in the marketing of petroleum products, is seeking a Fleet Coordinator to join its Barbados Operations team.
Job Summary
The position oversees the operation, maintenance, and compliance of the company’s petroleum transport fleet and non-commercial company owned vehicles. Ensures safety, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency and operational readiness of all fleet assets in support of timely product delivery across terminals, service stations, offices and C & I locations.
The key responsibilities for the position include:
- Prepare and update policies and guidelines related to fleet equipment specification, operational procedures and driver training
- Monitor Rubis locations for consistent implementation of policies
- Define and standardise technical specifications for all fleet types
- Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of fleet vehicles
- Develop and manage the regional fleet renewal strategy including budgeting, procurement and disposal
- Oversee the selection, onboarding and performance monitoring of third-party transport provider evaluation in terms of cost, effectiveness and safety
- Analyse fleet performance data using appropriate tools to inform replacement schedules and investment decisions
- Define and track KPIs such as fleet availability, utilisation, maintenance compliance, fuel efficiency and safety
- Conduct regular performance reviews and recommend corrective actions
- Prepare and present regional fleet performance reports
- Plan and schedule regular maintenance to the fleet. Work with suppliers to define spare parts required
- Ensure regulatory compliance with local oil transport laws. Plan vehicle inspections and legal documentation accordingly
- Monitor driver behaviour, routes and optimisation of delivery loads by assigning trucks effectively
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Transportation Management or related field.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field
- Proven experience in policy development, training and emergency planning.
- Strong knowledge of heavy duty vehicle specifications, maintenance practices and regulatory compliance
- Experience working in a regional role and willing to undertake up to 40% travel across the Caribbean
- Must be results oriented, self-motivated and business focused
