Operations Training Coordinator

Rubis Eastern Caribbean SRL, a company specialising in the marketing of petroleum products, is seeking an Operations Training Coordinator to join our Barbados Operations team. 

The position ensures operational excellence is achieved by making available and delivering the required standard of training to HSE, Operations, Engineering and Aviation employees. Acts as liaison with external training providers, facilitates local and overseas training and delivers in-house training. This role spans the Eastern and Western Caribbean.

The key responsibilities for the position include: 

  • Create annual training schedule for all mandatory training courses and prepare monthly reports on the progress 
  • Deliver in-house procedure-based training or facilitate external training to ensure high-quality maintenance work
  • Provide awareness, coaching and training to develop Operations employees’ knowledge and competence of the tools and systems in place
  • Create and source new training material as required
  • Prepare and maintain a database of the training requirements and completion status for all Operations employees
  • Collaborate with Operations, Marketing and Finance teams to align training strategies with business needs
  • Manage relationships with third-party contractors and vendors 
  • Identify knowledge or training gaps and prepare proposals to correct same 
  • Stay abreast of industry standards and ensure training remains in line with best practices
  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field 
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field (e.g. HSE, Aviation, Logistics, Maintenance)
  • Proven experience in delivering training courses
  • Must have excellent communication and relationship building abilities
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite 
  • Working knowledge of Smartsheet or other data analytics software would be an asset
  • Proven ability to use spreadsheets, graphs and other tools to extract, analyse and interpret complex data
  • Must be results oriented, self-motivated and business focused
  • Willingness to travel regularly within the region and internationally as required
  • Certifications in OSHA or other safety related qualifications would be an asset
