RUBIS Guyana Supports Literacy Development Through Donation to Project New Nation

Team RUBIS is helping to create stronger learning opportunities for Guyanese students through a recent donation of essential classroom supplies to Project New Nation’s Literacy Learning Programme.

The meaningful contribution, valued at GYD $336,000, will support the programme’s efforts to strengthen literacy and numeracy development by providing essential classroom resources that enhance learning.

Based in Bartica, Project New Nation is a non-governmental organisation working with Nursery to Grade 6 students who have learning disabilities or are performing below expected academic standards. The programme is designed to strengthen students’ literacy and numeracy competencies by enhancing their reading, phonics, and foundational mathematics skills.

Natasha Brown, Retail, Commercial & Industrial Accounts Executive, RUBIS, said RUBIS is proud to support initiatives that empower youth through education.

“We commend Project New Nation for its dedication to this programme. We hope this donation will help create a more conducive learning environment and empower these young students to reach their full potential,” Brown said.

Magaiva Gonsalves, Executive Director of Development, Project New Nation, accepted the donation and expressed deep appreciation for the partnership.

Gonsalves stated: “We sincerely thank RUBIS for its generous support of our Literacy Learning Programme. This contribution is helping us provide essential learning opportunities for children who need additional support, creating a positive environment that builds confidence and promotes future success. We deeply appreciate RUBIS’ commitment to education and community development and the lasting impact it is making on the children and families we serve.”
