Fleet Coordinator

Rubis Eastern Caribbean SRL, a company specialising in the marketing of petroleum products, is seeking a Fleet Coordinator to join its Barbados Operations team. 

The position oversees the operation, maintenance, and compliance of the company’s petroleum transport fleet and non-commercial company owned vehicles.  Ensures safety, regulatory compliance, cost efficiency and operational readiness of all fleet assets in support of timely product delivery across terminals, service stations, offices and C & I locations.

The key responsibilities for the position include: 

  • Prepare and update policies and guidelines related to fleet equipment specification, operational procedures and driver training 
  • Monitor Rubis locations for consistent implementation of policies 
  • Define and standardise technical specifications for all fleet types 
  • Oversee the acquisition, maintenance, and disposal of fleet vehicles
  • Develop and manage the regional fleet renewal strategy including budgeting, procurement and disposal
  • Oversee the selection, onboarding and performance monitoring of third-party transport provider evaluation in terms of cost, effectiveness and safety
  • Analyse fleet performance data using appropriate tools to inform replacement schedules and investment decisions 
  • Define and track KPIs such as fleet availability, utilisation, maintenance compliance, fuel efficiency and safety
  • Conduct regular performance reviews and recommend corrective actions
  • Prepare and present regional fleet performance reports 
  • Plan and schedule regular maintenance to the fleet. Work with suppliers to define spare parts required
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with local oil transport laws. Plan vehicle inspections and legal documentation accordingly 
  • Monitor driver behaviour, routes and optimisation of delivery loads by assigning trucks effectively
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Logistics, Transportation Management or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in a related field
  • Proven experience in policy development, training and emergency planning.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy duty vehicle specifications, maintenance practices and regulatory compliance
  • Experience working in a regional role and willing to undertake up to 40% travel across the Caribbean
  • Must be results oriented, self-motivated and business focused
