M&M Racing Team members, Roger and Barry Mayers, will be rallying under the RUBIS flag this season.
The highly successful brothers recently signed-up with the energy company’s, successful TeamRubis rally team. Combined and individually, the duo, hold a substantial number of Rally Barbados and Caribbean Motor Racing Champion (CMRC) winners trophies. Barry holds the 2005 record as the highest placed Rally Barbados 2WD overall winner in Rally Barbados. His brother Roger equaled this achievement in 2016.
In making the announcement, Andrea Gooding, Marketing Manager, Rubis West Indies Limited, welcomed the Mayers brothers to TeamRubis. She said, “We are very happy to have these two drivers join our winning team for the 2017 rally season and they know they have the entire Rubis Barbados team rooting for them.” She added, “This is our 5th year of rally sponsorship and our drivers have achieved great success including wins in the 2015 and 2016 Rally Barbados championships.
Barry Mayers thanked RUBIS for their support and commitment to the sport and the M&M Racing Team.” He said, “Roger and I are looking forward to a long and prosperous partnership.” He added, “We are ready for the first event of the season, the Shakedown rally in April.” The pair will be racing in their Digicel, Chefette, DHL, Hankook, Illusion Graphics and Rubis branded Toyota Starlet and Ford Fiesta.
The pair join 2015 and 2016 Rally Barbados winners Jeffrey Panton and Mike Fennell Jr. on the TeamRubis rally team.
