Team RUBIS was proud to be on board as the 2026 Pure Grenada Spice Island Billfish Tournament lit up the breathtaking seascape off the Grenada Yacht Club with intense angling action from January 26 to 30.
RUBIS contributed to the tournament’s success with ECD $5,000 in sponsorship, which was officially presented to Natalie Bruce, Chairman of the Spice Island Billfish Tournament, by Catoria Emma Jeremiah, Sales & Marketing Coordinator at RUBIS.
Throughout the tournament, local and international fishermen competed across multiple categories, making the competition both exciting and rewarding. “Cocobel” from Trinidad & Tobago emerged victorious in the five-day event, which brought together 38 boats and over 200 anglers. Other competitors hailed from St. Lucia, Martinique, Barbados, the UK, the USA, and the host country, Grenada.
The top three winners also received vouchers for Total Lubricants, with first, second and third place respectively receiving three cases, two cases and one case.
RUBIS Accounts Executive Areen Lewis congratulated the winners and participants.
“The Spice Isle Billfish Tournament continues to showcase Grenada as a premier marine and sporting destination. We are proud to support an event that not only brings together local and international participants but also delivers meaningful economic and tourism benefits to the island. Congratulations to all the winners, and we look forward to 2027!” Lewis said.
The Spice Island Billfish Tournament has been the premier billfish competition in the region since 1964. Held annually in Grenada, it draws anglers from across the Caribbean and beyond. Committed to marine conservation, the tournament adheres to international ‘catch and release’ standards, ensuring that billfish and other threatened species are protected. Only potential record-breaking catches are brought to the weigh station. Over the years, the event has seen remarkable growth, attracting boats from across the region and beyond as competitors vie for top prizes and the ultimate bragging rights.

During the lay day event, participants of the tournament enjoyed a chance to spin the RUBIS wheel and win.
