The residents of Suriname enjoyed a vibrant mix of culture, talent, and community when the Dobru Festival was successfully held from March 27 to March 29, 2026, and proudly supported by a USD 700 contribution from RUBIS.
The Dobru Festival serves as an important platform for young talents and artists to showcase their abilities and express their creativity. The event was well attended and highlighted the strong interest and engagement within the community.
Speaking on behalf of the organisers, Ms. Gerlind expressed sincere appreciation for RUBIS Suriname’s contribution, noting that the support played a key role in the festival’s successful staging.
The festival also emphasised inclusivity and empowerment. Among the participants were individuals with hearing impairments, who delivered a powerful presentation about their experiences. They highlighted that, despite their challenges, they are fully capable of pursuing their ambitions and actively participating in talent development. In addition, other young talents took part in the festival, showcasing their abilities through singing and poetry performances.
