RUBIS Dominica supports Recycle OECS

partnering with two schools under the Zero Waste Adopt-A-School initiative

Team RUBIS has backed the Zero Waste (Adopt-A-School) initiative – the Recycle OECS project — partnering with the Berean Academy and the Dominica Solid Waste Cooperation under a 2024 memorandum of understanding (MOU).

Under the agreement, RUBIS recently donated US$1,000 to the Berean Academy to assist with that school’s greenhouse irrigation project. RUBIS’ Operations Assistant Mariness Ambrose presented the award to Netty Laudat, the school’s 4H teacher.

The Adopt-A-School program allows businesses to select any school with an Environment Club or a 4H Club and work with those clubs to promote environmental protection and sustainability through field trips, educational workshops, clean-up campaigns, competitions and other developmental activities.

Berean Christian Academy was displaced after Hurricane Maria and relocated to a complex in Bath Estate. The complex has 96 students, 30 of whom are part of the 4H club.
