The partnership between the Food & Rum Festival and RUBIS, stands out as a model of the corporate support needed to “Feed the Future”, which was the theme of the 2022 edition of the Caribbean’s biggest celebration of food.
Amina Green, RUBIS Retail Accounts Executive, said their sponsorship was a tangible demonstration of the company’s support for youth development, the culinary arts and the hospitality industry.
Green said RUBIS was proud to support a key element of the Festival, by sponsoring a deserving hospitality student with a scholarship grant of $5000, in support of furthering their studies towards a career in the sector.
“We are extremely pleased to have been a part of this very successful Food & Rum Festival, which brought culinary excitement and a delicious mix of local and international chefs and flavours to Barbados, from October 27 to 30. However, what gives us the greatest pleasure and a sense of pride, is knowing that RUBIS provided the fuel to “Feed the Future” – not only with Rubigas LPG fueling the culinary industry in homes and commercial establishments, but also by investing in the education of our young people, who are indeed the future,” Green said.
The 2022 edition of the Barbados Food and Rum Festival is the first to be held since the event celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2019. Green said RUBIS looks forward to continuing its support of future events, as a fulfilment of its commitment to investing in and supporting Caribbean communities where it operates.
