Grenada’s best young debaters have been congratulated by Team RUBIS for their impressive showing at the recently concluded 2024 Annual Primary School Debate Competition organised by the St Patrick’s Youth Organisation (SPYO) and the Investment Migration Agency.
Account Executive Areen Lewis said RUBIS was delighted and honoured to sponsor the competition, which underscored its commitment to fostering education, critical thinking, and the development of young minds in the community.
“We extend our heartfelt congratulations to the competition’s winners, 1st Place St. Patrick’s Catholic School, 2nd Place Mt. Rose SDA Primary School, and 3rd Place Holy Spirit Catholic School, for their outstanding performance. Your dedication, preparation, and poise have set an inspiring example for your peers and the wider community.”
RUBIS’ sponsorship included backpacks and stationery supplies for all participants at the finals, EC$100 fuel vouchers for the coaches of the top three teams, and US$1,100 presented to the 2nd-place School.
“As a company deeply rooted in the values of growth and innovation, RUBIS recognises the importance of empowering the next generation with skills that go beyond the classroom. Debating not only cultivates critical thinking and public speaking but also encourages teamwork and confidence—qualities we believe are essential for shaping future leaders,” said Lewis.
The primary school debate competition featured grades 5 and 6 students drawn from primary schools in the parishes of St Patrick, St John, St Mark, and St Andrew.
