This was the theme for the recent RUBIS celebrations for their sponsored rally drivers. 2016 Rally Barbados winners Jeffrey Panton and Mike Fennell Jr. returned to Barbados for the events and joined their Team RUBIS drivers Neil Armstrong and Barry Ward, for two days of activities to celebrate the team’s successes.
The highlights included summer camp visits to the National Sports Council (NSC) and Kickstart Football Club, where young athletes and footballers had the opportunity to meet the drivers, check out the car and receive autographed Team RUBIS posters. The NSC campers received an extra special treat when Jeff Panton took his rally winning WRC Ford Focus 06 on the track for some spins and thrills. The team also visited the newest RUBIS Station at Mapp Hill, St Michael, for a meet and greet with customers.
The grand finale was an evening held at Bushy Park where customers, retailers, employees, drivers and their support team came together for celebrations and a friendly competition. At stake was the RUBIS Grand Prix Go Karting 2016 cup. Five teams competed in an endurance go karting challenge, which was hotly contested. Team Panton, which included Jeff Panton,
RUBIS Caribbean CEO Mauricio Nicholls, Kemar Drakes and Barry Ward took top honour this year. Neil Armstrong, Brett Judd, Stewart Gill and Trevor “Micey” Manning lead the other teams who finished closely behind the winners. Team RUBIS continued the fun when 3 lucky guests went on the main track for a spin with Jeff Panton – no holds barred. A great time was had by all.
