Assistant Aviation Superintendent

Rubis West Indies Limited, a company specialising in the storage and marketing of petroleum products, is seeking to fill the vacant position of Assistant Aviation Superintendent within our Aviation Department in Grenada.

To work with and support the aircraft fueling operations by ensuring that refueling of all customers is completed safely and efficiently and in accordance with company policy and industry standards. Maintain effective relationships with internal and external customers/business partners.

The key responsibilities for the position include: 

  • Supervise Crewmen and Operators in the execution of their routine tasks – routine fuel quality checks, tank farm and refuelers checks, product storage, safe delivery of fuel to aircraft etc.
  • Support the Aviation Superintendent to maintain excellent and highly efficient operations at the fuel farm. Provide support to the Aviation Superintendent to develop (where applicable) and implement aviation standards and best practices
  • Assist in addressing customer issues and effectively manage third party relationships 
  • Participate in developing and managing operating expenses and capital budgets
  • Support the planning and execution of aviation capital expenditure projects as required 
  • Assist the Superintendent in the implementation of planned maintenance programs
  • Monitor inventory and place orders as needed to ensure adequate availability of spare parts 
  • Ensure that the recommendations from airline inspections, internal inspections and regulatory institution audits are assessed, documented and addressed 
  • Organize drug and alcohol testing in accordance with company guidelines
  • Assist and work with crewmen on aircraft fueling operations 
  • Ensure product integrity, operational and HSE standards are fully implemented and maintained
  • Manage fuel stock levels, spare parts and coordinate planned maintenance with crewmen and contractors
  • Tertiary level qualification in Mechanical, Civil or Electrical Engineering or relevant qualification
  • Minimum of two years of experience in a similar environment
  • Valid heavy duty vehicle license
  • Demonstrated good communication and supervisory skills 
  • Computer literate in Microsoft Office Suite and able to read technical drawings
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, public holidays and within a shift system
  • Experienced as a team lead and possession of a strong business acumen would be an asset
  • A strong safety focus and HSE certification would be an asset
