Guyana, Fuelled by RUBIS.

5 years on and with a cumulative investment exceeding $US50 million in the Eastern Caribbean, RUBIS celebrated their milestone in Guyana.

Speaking during the energy company’s 5th anniversary celebrations hosted at the Aura Lounge, Pegasus Hotel, Mauricio Nicholls, CEO, RUBIS Caribbean, praised employees for their hard work, identifying them as a key reason for the organization’s success. Furthermore, he stated that the company has made significant investment in expanding and modernizing their fuel terminal. “We doubled our diesel storage capacity with the addition of a 30,000 BBL tank.  We also doubled our LPG storage capacity, modernized our fuel loading bay for trucks and installed equipment to load barges with fuel oil. Our cumulative investments in Guyana alone since 2011 exceeds US$8m, a very clear message demonstrating our strong commitment to Guyana.” Featured speaker The Hon. Dominic Gaskin, Minister of Business while addressing a large crowd which included retailers, employees and business partners, encouraged RUBIS to continue to expand its investments locally.

In Guyana, RUBIS has made many significant contributions in several areas. These included the donation of a 25 seater boat, the David G6, to the rural village of Baracara for the transportation of children to school.

Team RUBIS continued their birthday celebrations during Customer Appreciation events at the RUBIS Vlissengen Road, Mandela and Choke Service Stations.  Members of staff from the Providence Terminal greeted customers, cleaning windshields, fueling vehicles and encouraging them to play the Spin It To Win It game to receive prizes. A great time was had by all!
