RUBIS donation drive delivers for the children of the Sophia Care Centre

The Team RUBIS hamper donation drive continued to provide comfort and joy to vulnerable and deserving Guyanese communities with a contribution of 32 hampers, valued at a total of GYD $500,000 to the children of the Sophia Care Centre.

The hampers comprised essential self-care items, including lotions, deodorants, hair care products, oral care products, sanitary items and much more.

Speaking during the presentation, Natasha Brown, RUBIS Sales & Marketing Coordinator, said it was truly a privilege to be part of this meaningful initiative.

“At RUBIS Guyana, we believe in giving back to the communities we serve, and supporting the children of the Sophia Care Centre through these care hampers reflects our commitment to compassion, care, and social responsibility. We are honoured to bring a little comfort and joy to the children, and we remain dedicated to making a positive and lasting impact in the lives of those who need it most,” Brown said.

Cabela Lord, Home Services Supervisor, Sophia Care Centre, was gracious in accepting the generous donation.

“We greatly appreciate RUBIS Guyana Inc.’s support and commitment to improving the well-being of our children. Your generosity and thoughtfulness will make a meaningful difference in the lives of those we serve. We are grateful for the opportunity to collaborate with your organisation and look forward to any future interactions that bring positive impact to our Centre,” Lord said.

The Sophia Care Centre, at Plum Park, Sophia, Greater Georgetown, is a home that provides care, education, and support for neglected and underprivileged children and young adults, offering them a safe and nurturing environment away from abusive situations.
