RUBIS St Lucia assists community charities

TeamRUBIS was pleased to support a number of community-based local charities recently in their sixth annual hamper drive.

In a presentation at the RUBIS Terminal, Cul de Sac, Castries two organisations were presented with groceries and personal care products valued at EC$14,250.

One of the beneficiaries, the Alexander Family Foundation and Events (AFFE) was able to assemble and distribute 50 hampers of essential groceries to vulnerable families in the Soufriere and Fond St Jacques region. This charity assists families that are less fortunate with a view to improving their quality of life. Maylisa Alexander of the AFFE was grateful for the assistance, stating, “We take this opportunity to extend abundant thanks to the management and staff of RUBIS Caribbean as we hope to continue a similar collaboration in 2022. Thank you from the Alexander Family Foundation and the beneficiaries within Soufriere and Fond St Jacques!”

During the presentation, Chriselda Norbal, Accounts Executive, RUBIS said that the energy company was pleased to play its part in spreading good cheer in the community. She explained, “We look forward each year to supporting the important work of these community charities in assisting the less fortunate in our society. The COVID-19 pandemic continues to present a challenge with our team not being able to go into the community to deliver food hampers as we have done in previous years. Working hand in hand with these organisations allows us to reach those who need it most.”

The other organisation that benefitted was the National Council Of And For Persons With Disabilities (NCPD), with the donation of groceries contributing to their ongoing work to assist and empower persons with disabilities throughout the island.
